How It Works
Tirzepatide selectively binds to and activates GIP and GLP-1 receptors. These metabolic hormone pathways help regulate insulin secretion, glucagon levels, appetite and food intake.
Its activity increases insulin release when glucose levels are elevated and reduces glucagon secretion in a glucose-dependent manner. GLP-1 and GIP receptor signalling also acts in areas of the brain involved in appetite regulation, contributing to reduced caloric intake and changes in body weight.
