CJC-1295 No DAC is a synthetic peptide based on the biologically active 29-amino-acid region of human growth hormone-releasing hormone, or GHRH. It is investigated for its interaction with pituitary growth-hormone signalling and its effects on the GH–IGF-1 axis.
Studied Uses
CJC-1295 No DAC and related modified GHRH(1–29) peptides have primarily been studied in research involving:
- Growth-hormone release from the pituitary gland
- GHRH-receptor activity
- Pulsatile growth-hormone signalling
- Insulin-like growth factor 1, or IGF-1, production
- Pharmacological differences between short- and long-acting GHRH analogues
Research on GHRH analogues has examined how structural modifications can improve peptide stability while retaining activity at the pituitary GHRH receptor. Published human CJC-1295 studies reported increased GH and IGF-1 concentrations while preserving pulsatile GH secretion; however, those studies involved the long-acting DAC-containing form rather than CJC-1295 No DAC.
How It Works
CJC-1295 No DAC is designed to act as an analogue of naturally occurring GHRH. It interacts with GHRH receptors on somatotroph cells in the anterior pituitary gland, signalling the pituitary to synthesize and release endogenous growth hormone.
Released growth hormone subsequently influences the production of IGF-1, particularly through the liver and other responsive tissues. These hormones form part of a signalling pathway involved in growth, metabolism and cellular activity.
Unlike long-acting CJC-1295, the No-DAC form does not contain the reactive Drug Affinity Complex responsible for binding CJC-1295 to circulating albumin. It should therefore not be described as having the prolonged albumin-bound activity demonstrated for DAC-containing CJC-1295.
