CJC-1295 With DAC is a long-acting synthetic analogue of the biologically active 29-amino-acid region of human growth hormone-releasing hormone, or GHRH. Its Drug Affinity Complex, known as DAC, allows the peptide to bind to circulating albumin, extending its presence in the bloodstream compared with shorter-acting GHRH analogues.
Studied Uses
CJC-1295 With DAC has been investigated in clinical and preclinical research involving:
- Pituitary growth-hormone secretion
- GHRH-receptor activity
- Insulin-like growth factor 1, or IGF-1, production
- Long-acting GHRH analogue pharmacokinetics
- Preservation of pulsatile growth-hormone signalling
- Hormonal responses following single and repeated administration
Human studies in healthy adults found that CJC-1295 produced sustained, dose-dependent increases in circulating growth hormone and IGF-1. Separate research found that growth-hormone pulsatility remained present while mean and trough GH levels increased.
How It Works
CJC-1295 binds to GHRH receptors on somatotroph cells in the anterior pituitary gland. This stimulates the synthesis and release of endogenous growth hormone, which subsequently increases IGF-1 production in the liver and other responsive tissues.
The DAC modification enables the peptide to form a long-lasting association with serum albumin. This reduces rapid clearance and enzymatic breakdown, resulting in more prolonged stimulation of the GH–IGF-1 signalling pathway than native GHRH or No-DAC analogues.
