Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide that acts as a growth-hormone secretagogue. It mimics aspects of the natural hormone ghrelin and has been investigated for its effects on growth-hormone signalling and ghrelin-receptor activity.

How It Works
Ipamorelin binds to the ghrelin receptor, also called the growth-hormone secretagogue receptor or GHSR. Activation of this receptor signals the pituitary gland to release stored growth hormone, increasing circulating GH levels.
This mechanism differs from peptides that act directly on the growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor. Ipamorelin’s biological activity is therefore primarily studied through ghrelin-receptor signalling and its downstream effects on pituitary growth-hormone secretion.
